SAY MY NAME

Hello Lovelies, how time flies! Its the begining of a new week, and we are fast approaching the new year, YAY!!! This year has been a good year, filled with the sweet, sour and outright bitter, but still, a great one for me. I am happy to be alive.

So I welcomed my son, Bryan on July 17th, very early in the morning. The feeling of holding him for the first time is indescribable, as my first reaction was tears. Tears of joy, triumph and utter relief, and for a while longer I couldn't believe he was here, finally.

The naming ceremony was done exactly a week after delivery, and the child dedication, the first Sunday after he was 40 days old. Coincidentally, it was our wedding anniversary too, so it was a special Sunday for us ; double celebration.

I remember one of my Igbo friends telling me she doesn't understand why Yoruba people do the naming ceremony so soon after birth, whereas, they do theirs (usually with big parties) much later. I concluded on my own that it was probably because Igbo people like parties. But then again, Yoruba people love parties too.

To everyone reading this, looking for the fruit of the womb, I pray that God in his infinite mercies answer your prayers and let you enjoy the joys of motherhood. Amen

My makeup and gele was done by Simbi of LBVmakeovers.
