I would start by saying the year 2012 was a great year for me; there were happy moments, sad moments, moments I don't ever want to witness again and moments that I wish could last for ever. In all these, I am most of all grateful for being alive and well, grateful for my wonderful family, loving friends, and the faithful readers of this blog. As we step into the year 2013, I wish you all a prosperous new year with less drama, filled with love and all things excellent.

Here are some moments in 2012 that I am grateful for, these pictures show what I've been up to this year, and sheds a little more light into what I hope to achieve in the coming year. Enjoy scrolling through the moments of my 2012

This was what I had for dinner for several weeks, it was worth it. I hope to stay healthier in 2013

Earlier today, I was at the wedding of a lovely lady who is very close to my heart - Anucious. It was a celebration of love between two people who clearly love each other, and I am glad I could be part of this joyous occasion.

In Wana's words, ''The original idea for this collection was birthed from a daily visit to vintage bars and coffee shops. The collection has pieces you wear out to  grab a coffee, go dancing, basically all things fun, retro, chic and wild. Thigh high slit skirts, party tops and shorts! Its sequins, silk, jersey, chiffon and leather! #WSarmy, Lets have fun!!''

Merry Christmas lovely people, I hope you had as much fun as I did today. Spent the day with loved ones, had food and drinks in excess (I'm typing this in a state of food induced coma), laughed so much as I shared old stories and private jokes. Hung out with old school mates, some of whom I hadn't seen in about 2 years, we had a lovely meal at Orient Lounge.

Never heard of the place before today, so I was excited to see it. Apart from the fact that the food came very late after we ordered (we waited for over an hour), it was worth wait; the food wasn't bad at all.

On Friday, I was at the engagement ceremony of my friend and namesake Adeshewa, and her hearthrob Taye. It was a joyous occasion as they were both surrounded by friends and family. And for me, it was like a USS reunion as I saw old classmates and friends I hadn't seen since grad.

Hi guys, I'm sure we all have this one skirt or top or shoe that we like so much and wouldn't mind wearing everyday of every week. Mine is this cream sleeveless dress shirt I got almost a year ago and which I have just refused to let go. Why should I, when it practically goes with anything I put it on? I have put together 3 ways in which I have worn it in recent times, I hope you find the shirt as likeable as I do.

Hello guys, here is this week's creative mind - Nory, a MUA with class and sass.  Follow her on this journey as she gives you a little peep into her world.

''My name is Nory, I've been a makeup artist for 3 years. I just started doing makeup one day, I guess. I've always had some interest in changing people's faces. I don't believe anyone needs a lot of makeup to look good, you just need to apply it right. I went to Unilag and studied Engineering (shocking, I know), but I've always been an artist (I paint). Makeup is about expression, a pink moist lip can tell the world that you feel girly and feminine that day, as a matte red lip shows your confident power.''

Hello guys, I hope we all had a fantastic week? I want to start by saying a big THANK YOU to all of you for stopping by, I really appreciate it; wouldn't be doing this if you weren't here. This was what I wore to work on Friday and I couldn't help but feel like a nomadic herdsman with a modern, girly twist in my ensemble. The only things missing were a long stick to hang my hands across and a wide straw hat, check on the pictures below :)

As I earlier mentioned in a post, I changed jobs and this new job requires us to be corporately dressed from Monday to Wednesday and then corporate-casual on Thursday, with Friday being the only day you can decide to wear what you like. In order to make my blog much more interesting and hopefully interactive, I have decided to do a style post every week detailing what I wore to work that week and where you are likely to get something similar if not the exact thing. I hope this comes in handy for you guys :)

Here is what I wore on Tuesday

Hello Lovelies, hope you all had a fruitful week? My week was all sorts of awesome; in my quest for a photographer to help me with my style posts on the blog, I was introduced to Busola, a fellow USS (Unilorin Secondary School) alumni. The first feeling I had was one of great relief even before meeting her at all, anyways, the meeting went fine and here is how she describes herself in her own words :)

Let me start off by apologising for the very long silence, there is really no excuse for that, but I would briefly like to state that it was due to the fact that I recently changed jobs. Do I hear congrats? Thanks. OK  now that that is done, lets get back to where we are here - today's post.

I decided to start a segment that showcases people working in fashion; designers, stylists, make up artists, hair stylists, photographers, and the likes. I recently discovered that a lot of people don't really know what goes on behind the scenes in the fashion industry, and I have taken it upon myself to educate you in my own little way.

The first ever Creative Mind (as I want to call them on here) is Ijeoma Joy Ike, she's a fashion illustrator with quite a number of works credited to her. She is based in Lagos, and she studied law from the University of Jos, Nigeria. In her own words, this is how she describes what a fashion illustrator does " basically as a fashion illustrator, what I do is conceptualize designs and bring them out through art (sketches and colours), therefore an illustrator handles the creative part of fashion production".

The MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week has come and gone, and it was one of the most exciting weeks for me in a long time. I worked backstage, met so many interesting people, and in total had a really nice time. Spent all my time working beside my mentor and friend ,talented stylist Crystal Deroche, and it made the work easier and less stressful. In all the time I was at the event, I was too busy to take pictures of backstage work or even with the lovely people I met; it's a shame, I know.

Anyway, I am sure you have all seen runway pictures from the event, and if you haven't  you can still redeem yourself by checking here and here. There were so many lovely people, loads of buyers and international press; in my opinion it was a huge success.

Now to the main post of the day, I decided to do a short compilation of the 10 looks off the runway that I really like and wouldn't mind having in my wardrobe :D. Here they are in no particular order

Alali Boutique

I like this skirt because of its colour arrangement; its really sweet and not too loud plus the transparent bit at the bottom is simply naughty without being sinful. Love the top as well, the draped neck line is soo me

The much awaited schedule for the 2012 MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week is out. The event which will hold from the 24th to 27th of October in Lagos at the Eko Hotel promises to be the best fashion event in Africa so far. Yes, I said so! Continue to get a clearer picture of the schedule and see why this event is just the coolest.

In my quest for a fresh, chic and affordable Nigerian ready-to-wear brand, I came across Suchille Clothings. The pieces are simple, young and innocent in form yet daring enough to awaken the female body; what else could a girl ask for?

Established just two years ago, celebrities like Yvonne Vixen Ekwere, Damilola Adegbite, Isio Wanogho, Mercy Aigbe, Ruby Gyang have all rocked Suchille pieces. The brand has also participated in well known events and shows in the country, some of which include THE MAKING SEASON 1, THE LAGOS STYLE WEEK, THE NIGERIA TELEVISION FASHION SHOW.

Have good look at the look book and be sure to add one or two pieces to your wardrobe.

Super model, enterprenuer and mother of two - Oluchi Orlandi looks simply amazing in this independence issue of StyleMania Magazine. I can't wait to see her host the African version of Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model (ANTM), which will be aired soon. I'm eagerly waiting for it to start, I'm confident of her excellent execution of the her role.

The finalists of the MTN Lagos Fashion and Design Week were also featured in this issue. The show is slated for 24th - 27th October, which is next week. I am privileged to be working backstage on the show, so expect exclusive pictures on here.

International fashion stylist Crystal Deroche is set to launch her own show - The Crystal Deroche Show. It will be aired on her youtube CrystalDerocheTV channel starting mid November. She is supported by her lovely "Glam Squad" composed of Imelda, top makeup artist/beauty editor at Side View Magazine and Bunmi Senior Hair stylist at AVOS Hair.

The Crystal Deroche Show is a makeover show aimed at empowering women by revamping their femininity and self confidence.
On each episode the show will welcome a guest and help her achieve her dream appearance by reinventing her looks.
There will also be news on fashion, trends, discussion/close ups on interesting products, tips on how to revamp your wardrobe and much more.

Nigerian designer Ejiro Amos Tafari, whose line is also her name has been around for some time, and I have always loved her work. It is with great joy in my heart that I type this post because she now has a diffusion line called D.E.A.T Lagos. She teamed up with her best friend Diana Ubah to create this fun, girly yet egdy and sophisticated ready to wear collection.

I love how they cleverly mixed materials together to form these interesting pieces and the colour coordination is also very well mixed and matched. Check on the rest of this awesome collection
